BOYNE under 17s 29 EDENDERRY 8

Despite the weather and a quagmire of a pitch the under 17s stuck at it, to come away victors in this match against Edenderry. Truth be known we dropped passes on the try line due to conditions and on a dry day it could have been another 20 points. The work rate from the team was probably the best of the season both in attack and defense and provides for an excellent end of season.

Under 17 'B' 5 - 19 Navan 'B'

Although the 17 B side suffered another loss in the Leinster league the team is improving week by week and this was evident here. Navan had plenty of possession in the opening quarter but Boyne defended well with the center pairing of Stephen Foley & Ross Berkerey stopping all breaks down their channels.  Navan did manage one clean line break and scored to take a 5 - 0 lead.  Boyne came into the game more and were awarded a penalty wide on the right on the navan 22.

Boyne U-17 'B' 26 - Rathoath 10

Boyne U-17 'B' squad got thier Leinster League campaign off to a winning start against local rivals Rathoath.  A bright sunny autumn morning saw the Bryanstown pitch in excellent shape as the teams lined up.  Rathoath got off to a great start scoring a try in the first few minutes to go 5 - 0 up.  Boyne struggled to stay in the game at times, with concentration & work rate in defense not at the required levels.  Slowly however the team started to come in to the game and were rewarded with a converted try to leave the score at half time 7 - 5 to Boyne.

Skerries under17 - 59 Boyne under17A -0

The score line does not reflect a very physical and hard fought match. Boyne competed in every level of the game and were on the try line three times for sustained periods without a result. Despite the score the commitment level was very high from all players, but in the end Skerries were the better team and finished plays to convert into ties. However a very good base to improve on from the Boyne players and no disgrace in this defeat.

17's 'B' defeat Ardee

Boyne 17's played Ardee in Shamrock Lodge as a precursor to the opening AIL game v Richmond.  Boyne had a panel of 25 on the day, and all the players got onto the pitch.  Boyne proved too strong for an inexperienced Ardee side and ran in a number of tries early on.  With 10 changes at half time Boyne were a bit unsettled and early in the second half Ardee scored two tries before Boyne regained their composure and ran in some further scores.  Some of the players of note were Chris Demsey who had some great lines & carries and Jack Cronin with excellent place kicking.

Under 17 'B' 24 - 10 North Meath

Boyne's Under 17's 'B' squad got their North East League campaign off to a great start with a win over North Meath. A glorious sunny autumn morning, with the club preparing for the Presidents gathering & senior matches v NUIM Barnhall saw the 17's 'B' team play on the main pitch which was in magnificent condition.
A slow start saw North Meath attack and a poor choice by Boyne full back to run the ball when outnumbered and lacking support saw the ball turned over and North Meath opened the scoring with a try.
