Boyne U12's (Lions) travelled to the impressive Old Wesley/Landsdowne grounds on the foothills of the Dublin/Wicklow mountains in Kilternan on a beautiful Sunday morning for their second fixture in this years Metro A League.

Boyne U12s made their first foray to the wilds of Munster last weekend with a trip to Corn Con and Bruff RFC. A very strong traveling party, backed by ardent supporters, allowed real strength in depth to team selection. A fine win in the first of 6 furious games on Cork Cons turf, set the tone for the series. The inclement weather made play difficult but didn't dampen the enthusiasm of all. The hospitality and friendliness of the Cork side was only matched by their intensity in play.

A depleted Boyne squad had a challenging morning’s rugby vs Coolmine at the Grammar School. Our forwards started in typical gung-ho style, making early progress towards the Coolmine line, with Aaron Barlow and Tadg O Reilly setting the tempo. Hugo Dwyer consistently led by example in the back line, showing fine ball awareness and making strong tackles throughout. Patrick Prendergast found the line in typical head-down fashion, but with Coolmine now finding their feet, it was a short respite.

Sunday November 7th saw the Antelopes and the Brumbees travel to Dundalk RFC, for the latest round of North Eastern Blitzes. A strong turnout of 19 gave the coaches another opportunity to build the skills of the newer recruits. Both teams made slow, character building starts to the day with the Antelopes falling to Virginia and the Brumbees being run aground by Skerries. However a regroup brought much more spirited games in the 2nd run, with great scrummaging from Patrick Prendergast, Andrew Dalton and Stevie Kierans leading the Antelopes to a 4-2 win over Dundalk.
