The Boyne under 15's met thier toughest opposition so far this season when they hosted De La Salle Palmerston on Sunday in Bryanstown.
With a very evenly matched game for the majority of the first half a lapse of discipline by DSLP provided Boyne a platform in their opposition's twenty two.
A a strong forward drive by the pack provided the opportunity for flanker Davy Tallon to touch the ball down just before half time.
The try was converted by David Levins who adopted the role of Captain on the day in the absence of of Micheal Hennessy.
The second half proved to be a tougher battle with DSLP consistently attacking the Boyne line.
However some heroic defending by the Boyne side managed to withstand the onslaught and an opportunistic break by centre Daniel Grimes found lock Hugh Carolan free to bring the ball over the line for Boyne's second try of the game and a final score of 12 - 0 to the home team.
There is as great spirit in the under 15 squad and they never appear to give less than 100%.
Sunday's performance was no exception and fine performances by Dean Boyle , Karl Keogh, Hugh Carlolan and David Levins, Daniel Grimes and Shaun Rooney were especially worthy of mention.
