Dundalk 5 Boyne 19

Boyne U15's travelled to local Rivals Dundalk and registered a good win in what can only be described as very difficult conditions.Having come off the back of a heavy defeat to Mullingar in the Leinster league it was important that they got back to winning ways. The home side opened up the scoring after just three minutes running in a try.The Boyne side responded well and were camped in the opposition 22 for a prolonged period eventually coming away with a derserved try by tight head Luke O'Callaghan which was duly converted by Alex Holden. The Boyne side continued to dominate but the wet conditions proved very difficult and the sides went in 7-5 to the Boynesiders at halftime .The heavens opened at the start of the second half and despite a number of first team players out through injury the Boyne side dominated much of the play and eventually secured their second try again through Luke O'Callaghan in what was a real fowards effort. This was not a night for an expansive game and the Boyne pack set about securing victory with some very intelligent kicking from outhalf James Kiernan keeping the home side pinned back in their own 22 and after a good break from second row Finbar Conlon who was denied scoring after being held up the Boyne side were awarded a scrum, quick thinking from Captain O'Callaghan swithching to no8 crashed over for Boynes final try which was duly converted by Alex Holden .This was an all round good performance from a depleted Boyne side The Boyne team was Tadhg O'Reilly,Andrew Dalton,Lke O'Callaghan,Finbar Conlon,Alex Yore,Kristian Mooney,Andrew Pryor,Sean Flynn,Stevie Kieran ,James Kieran,Daniel Gray,Alex Holden,Shane Brodigan,Ryan Summersby,John Callan.
