Arklow 1sts were the visitors to Shamrock Lodge on Sunday last for the Leinster PTC to play Boyne J1 side. This was an entertaining game and played in true PTC spirit with the scoreline flattering the visitors following a valliant Boyne effort throughout this game.

PT Plate – Boyne 11pts Athy 10pts

This game was a refixture of the match played two weeks ago at Shamrock Lodge when the referee had to retire with an injury just after half time. The Kildare men had to make the trip again and this time found themselves at the wrong end of the scoreline when a last minute Joe Sweeney penalty denied them victory to extend Boyne J1’s season.

The aura of the Provincial Towns Cup returned to Shamrock Lodge on Sunday last when Portlaoise were the visitors for this 1st round tie. Boyne have recent happy memories of this competition having been winners in the ‘09/’10 & ‘10/’11 seasons. Visitors, Portlaoise were looking for their first win at this stage of the competition not having succeeded at the first hurdle for the past four years.
