Our first fixture of the 2012/2013 season took place in Shamrock Lodge in awful conditions, very cold weather and an almost constant rain. After a mid morning start in miserable conditions, the Boyne Girls braced themselves for a Tag blitz against the Ratoath and Suttonions Girls tag teams. There was great excitement despite the conditions and all teams played extremely well.
The Girls' Tag team is for players, just girls aged from 6 to 13

Boyne girls tag team had there first game in Dundalk on Saturday. There was great excitement between both teams who had a draw match. The Boyne girls played extremely well considering they are not long at the game. There was some great trys by Suzie Keogh, Sarah and Eleanor,Marianne and Alex.Great support play from Alex,Michalea,Maebh and Eva, while some great breaks were made by Grainne, Ciara and sisters Orla and Aishling.
The girls from Boyne's mini's section took part in the first competitive girls rugby fixture to take place at mini's level in Leinster on Saturday 17th January. On a blustery morning in Dundalk the girls played three matches against their Dundalk counterparts, winning two of the games. The excitement for the players, coaches and parents was evident on their faces and hopefully from this small beginning we can help build province wide girls tag rugby competitions.
