Boyne Ladies 0 v 36 St. Marys

It was a sad day for Boyne Ladies as they suffered their first defect this year. From kick off st Marys were showing themselves to be a well drilled team. and quickly rattled the Boyne Girls. Spending the first twenty minuets in their own 22 boyne showing good defence held off St. Marys. St. Marys went for the post instead of the line when awarded a penalty and put themselves on the score board. this put boyne on the back leg and the home side still could not get any game momentum. St. Mary's got over the line twice before half time and converted both.

Belfast Harlequins 10 v 40 Boyne RFC

The Weather was good and the pitch at belfast was in perfect condition. boyne came out blazing but the game was put to halt as our coach Nial Sweeney was asked to refrain from questioning the referee. It wasn't long before Boyne got over the try line. After two more impressive trys Boyne seemed to take their foot off the pedal. and Quins got back into the game with a try. After a dubious sin bin we were down to 14 player. Thankfully Boyne started to play again and got back over the try line once more however the half ended with Quins going over for one more try.

Boyne 13 v 0 Trinity

After being postponed because of the snow last week both teams were eager for the kick off. However it was Boyne who took advantage of a penalty within the scoring zone with Marian Holland putting a valuable three points on the board. With spirits high Boyne played well and as a result touched down again at the hands of Ciara Power. The rest of the first half however where spent in the home sides twenty two. Giving away many penalties Boyne did well to keep Trinity off the score board.

Boyne Ladies 12 v City of Derry 5

With high winds and regular heavy showers it was a miserable day for rugby. A home fixture meant the ladies were out to impress their supporters witch in spite the weather a respectful number showed up. All went to the Boyne ladies favour at the toss and they played with the wind for the first half. With a good kick off by Marian Holland the Boyne defence was quick to retrieve the ball and looked to be set for an early try. However this was short lived and the opposition took control with a try early in the half taking advantage of an over lap in the backs.

Boyne Ladies 37 - 0 Belfast Harlequins

The Boyne Ladies arrived bright eyed and bushy tailed for their 11.30 a.m. kick off with The Belfast Harlequins. The conditions were perfect for the game, no wind, no rain. Harlequins received the kick off. However Boyne was over the try line within minutes. This was disallowed but the Boyne Ladies did not lose their high spirits and were at once over the try line again at the hands of Ciara Power. Boyne cemented their lead with a second try from a drive on a line out. Sandra Mc Aleer placed the ball down for the try.

Sinead Delany Starts For Leinster

Boyne Ladies were well represented by Sinead Delany today when Leinster took on Ulster at the Naas grounds. Starting in the number 13 position. She played strongly in the windy conditions at both defence and attack. Sinead has done her club proud. The finial result was Leinster 23 - 0 Ulster.

Boyne V Carrickfergus

Boyne Ladies were back in form for their first league match of the year. Within seconds of kick off they set up camp in the oppositions 22 but were unable to get the ball over the line and the first half ended 0-0. In the second half were more successful when they drove the ball over the line as a result of a line out. Sandra Mc Aleer had her hands on the ball for the try. Within minutes in the same fashion the ball was once more over the line but this time held up by the opposition. Marie Clare Bellew was also held off the line when made an impressive break.

Shannon 7 Boyne 34

Boyne Ladies showed their male counterparts the way with a highly impressive bonus-point away victory in their opening AIL division 1 game of the season on Sunday.
