Pre-Season Friendly v Dromore

The Boyne senior mens panel travelled up North to Dromore last Saturday and had a training game of three 25 minute periods against the Ulster Junior 1 side. We had a good win with the final scoreboard reading 21 points to 5 points.
The new coach, Craig McGrath, tried out several new players and the club welcomed back former centre Eoin Fox following a few years away from the club. Another encouraging aspect of the trip was the inclusion of several young players who are now coming of age and graduating to adult rugby.

Battling display sees Boyne 3rds through to cup final

A single try scored by Ricky McCormack and converted by Alan Martyn was enough to see Boyne through to the Anderson Cup final in a tough but exciting semi final in Clane on Sunday.

1st XV 17 Roscrea 8 (Towns Plate Final)

Boyne have contested the Leinster Provincial Towns Plate 3 times in the last four years and this was their second win out of the three finals. During that spell they have also appeared in the Final of the Provincial Towns Cup losing out to Naas. The short journey to Naas on Saturday evening last to take on Roscrea turned out to be a rewarding end to the season for the Boyne squad.

Lucky number 13 for Boyne 3rds in Anderson Cup quarter final

Boyne’s 3rd team recorded their 13th win in all competitions on Sunday in Naas in a Cup quarter final showdown with the much fancied home team. Having beaten last years winners Dundalk in the 1st round, and local rivals Cill Dara in the 2nd round, Naas would have been confident heading into this game. The Boynesiders, unbeaten since this stage of the competition last year, paid no heed to reputation however, and set about their hosts from the first whistle.

Forward dominance the key to success for Boyne 3rds in cup clash

Boyne faced Ardee for the third time this season at Shamrock Lodge on Sunday, but this time it was in the Anderson Cup 2nd round. Having beaten their local rivals twice in the league, Boyne were confident heading into the fixture, and their confidence was well founded as they went on to complete a hat-trick of wins for the season.
The morning snow cleared to leave excellent conditions for the 3pm Kick Off, and with the wind blowing across the pitch, neither side had an advantage.

Boyne 2nds 10 - 5 Navan 2nds

Boyne 2nds earned a hard fought victory over it's nearest rivals by 10 points to 5 in the top of the league match on Sunday morning at Shamrock Lodge.

In excellent conditions with a slight breeze to their backs, Boyne took the lead with some beautiful rugby and interplay between backs and forward. The try was finished by Adam Sherard and coverted by Alan McEneaney. Several minutes later after a lot of pressure from the Boyne pack, Alan McEneaney coverted a penalty to move Boyne 10 points clear. Alan was unlucky with another penalty as the breeze picked up, pushing his shot wide.
