Boyne U13's miTour North Wales Challenge Cup Winners 2015

Boyne U13s North Wales Challenge Cup Winners

On Friday 27th March Boyne U13's met in Shamrock Lodge at 6am to start their Wales Tour. They were competing in the miTour North Wales Challenge Cup. They had 2 teams entering the competition. They went out on Saturday and played some fine rugby which got both teams into the Semi Finals on Sunday. We arrived to the matches on Sunday to torrential rain and after playing one game in that rain, both teams made it to the finals. Tour organisers then moved all games to an indoor arena after all pitches became water logged.

Boyne U13's B loose the battle but win the war away to Malahide

Boyne U13’s B travelled to Malahide early on Sunday morning buoyant after the great game against North Meath the previous week. Unfortunately Malahide only arrived with 10 players and luckily Boyne travel with 22. Five Boyne players played for Malahide in the first have and put in a great shift for the host team. With Todd scoring against his own club! Two additional Malahide players arrived at half time and this gave the coaches some room to make positional changes. The second half produced some great running rugby by both teams with the Boyne players on both teams to the fore.

U13's A victorious in first round of Leinster Cup against Clane

Boyne U13’s A followed up their hard fought 12-5 win against Newbridge last week with a win away to Clane in the first round of the Leinster Club. The game finished with a scoreline of 24-10 but it could and should have been more. Great tries from Danial Mol, Cian F, Colm P and Ethan V and two conversions from James F sealed the victory on a cold but dry February morning. The first half proved to be a bit of an arm-wrestle with neither side getting the upper hand, with the ball being played amongst the forwards.

Boyne U13 Leinster League win against Birr

Boyne U13’s got back to winning ways on Saturday with a hard fought four try win away against Birr. This was the first game of 2013 and with only one good training sessions under their belt since Christmas the coaches expected some rustiness. This however did not materialise and the boys got straight into the game from the kickoff. Boyne, playing against the wind scored the only try in the first half after some good quick ruck ball provided by the forwards before the ball went through all hands before it reached the flying winger Philip Kirk to score in the corner.
