Friday Night Lights (Part II)

Boyne Under 13s made the short trip down the coast to play local neighbours Skerries last Friday (18 February 2011). Both teams defied the foul weather to turn in a game of thrilling rugby, with Skerries winning by the odd score.

Boyne rucked and mauled hard to push forward and were rewarded after 10 mins when the ball was taking out of a maul and sent out wide to jordan voss on the wings to sprint home from 30 yards forthe 1st of 3 tries .

Skerries 17 - 14 Boyne

A buoyant Under 13 squad made the short trip southwards to Skerries to play the latest round of the Sunday Youth League. Having narrowly failed to put their opponents away in their last two games, Boyne went into the game confident that their ability to move the ball quickly from wing to wing would serve them well.

Boyne 5 - 8 Rathoath

The Boyne U-13 team hosted their counterparts from Ratoath in the S.Y. League. Despite the cold and damp weather, and the slippery conditions underfoot, both teams competed in a hard fought match which saw some great rugby. In the end it finished a narrow but deserved victory for the visitors, with Boyne unlucky to have come up short by the odd penalty goal.

u-13's v Barnhall

On a cold Sunday morning Boyne travelled to Barnhall RFC for their Leinster league fixture. The game started with Barnhall kicking off, which we caught and started to advance towards Barnhall’s half. For the next few minutes the lads pushed hard to gain yards, which they did, but just couldn’t finish off with a score. A bad handling error caused Barnhall to gain possession move to opposite side which we stopped. For the next couple of minutes it was hard tackling and defending on Boyne’s behalf. We gave away a simple penalty close to the posts in which Barnhall scored, 3-0.
