Over 35's Leinster Fox Cup Final Spent Salmon (Boyne) 7pts Tereneure College 35pts.

The rapids at Clontarf RFC last night put an end to the hopes of the Spent Salmon getting to their destination and annexing the Fox Cup for the first time in the Boyne RFC's history. This was a game to far following their previous weeks heroics which left team manager, Sean Rochford, searching the highways and byways to put 15 fit players on the pitch for the final due to injuries and non availability of some members of the squad.

Over 35's Fox Cup Semi Final Spent Salmon (Boyne) 15pts Old Belvedere 5pts

The adage "Auld Dog For The Hard Road" was never more relevant to describe the players who participated in this match. Not alone because both sides gave their all in a highly enjoyable encounter but, because the conditions were absolutely atrocious. There was a gale force wind driving down the pitch accompanied by driving rain and bitterly cold. This scribe watched the game from the comfort of a nice warm car in his first "Drive In" floodlit rugby match.

Spent Salmon play Scottish Tourist side Hamilton

The Boyne Vets entertained a Scottish touring side in the lodge on Friday evening. Due to the number of non experienced tourist it was decided that a game of "TIP" Rugby was the best form of play with 12 players on each side.

The tourist method of warming up was interesting to say the least - both teams had to down a bottle of Port before the kick off - well I guess it beats stretching.

Suttonians just edge pass Spent Salmon

Suttonians just edge pass Spent Salmon

The experienced Vets side of Suttonians who are unbeaten all year narrowly defeated the Boyne Spent Salmon 6 tries to 5 in a tight encounter. The game initially kick off with Boyne only fielding 14 players before the full compliement was achieved. The team was made up of old and new faces and all players seemed happy with their spoils. Good to see old vets like Marty Berrill, Conor Clarke, Andy Grennan, Frazer and Holty back into the fray, coupled with the old war horses of Gary Downey, Neil Berney, Eldon Moores and Ian Stewart.
